This is the full fingerstyle guitar lesson for Eva Cassidy’s truly stunning cover of Time After Time.

This was originally sung and co-written by Cyndi Lauper, and in 1984 it became her first number 1 hit in the USA. Eva Cassidy recorded her cover in 1996 and it was released in 2000, four years after she had sadly passed away. Her voice is hauntingly beautiful, delicate and yet powerful at the same time with perfect phrasing throughout.

OK, here we go! It’s fair to say that this one has its moments of complexity. What I personally found tricky was the timing for her vocal line, as I said in the introduction, her phrasing is superb but this can make it hard for us to replicate on the guitar so just watch out for that.
