The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy) is a classic folk song by American duo Simon & Garfunkel (Paul Simon being the lead writer). The song appears on their 1966 album Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme. In this lesson we’re going to be learning how to play this short, fun and upbeat song in full.
It’s a great song to learn for people around the intermediate mark of fingerpicking. The chords are very straightforward throughout and the picking patterns aren’t too hard either. Having said that, you may find the tempo a little challenging as it comes in at around 150bpm, which is really quite fast.
