In this post we’re going to learn a really fun, intermediate level fingerstyle arrangement of Something by The Beatles.

George Harrison wrote Something, and the song appears on the band’s iconic 1969 album Abbey Road. The song peaked at number 4 in the UK charts and reached the number 1 spot on the US Billboard Hot 100, and many regard it as one of Harrison’s best pieces. Even John Lennon said it was the best song on Abbey Road!

Like many Beatles songs, it makes for a great fingerstyle arrangement. The chords move swiftly along with the strong melody on top. I’m sure you’ll be playing this on your guitar for years to come.

OK, let’s pick up or guitars and learn how to play Something!

So as to not over complicate things (and to keep this arrangement around the intermediate level), I decided to leave out George’s guitar solo. Other than that, all parts of the song are included.
