In this lesson we’re going to learn how to play a beautiful, beginner level fingerstyle arrangement of Smile by Charlie Chaplin.

Chaplin wrote this song in 1936 as an instrumental piece for his silent film Modern Times. Later, in 1954, the lyrics were added by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons. It has since been covered by numerous artists such as Nat King Cole, Judy Garland, Diana Ross and Michael Jackson to name a few.
