La Vie en rose, which is French for ‘Life in pink’ and more accurately translates to life seen through rose tinted glasses, was written by Édith Piaf in 1945 and released as a single in 1947. It gained popularity in the United States in the 1950s and has been covered by many great artists, including Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin and Bing Crosby.
