This is the full fingerstyle guitar lesson for In My Life.

In My Life was written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney and the song appears on the The Beatles 1965 classic album Rubber Soul. It’s a beautiful piece with a strong melody and quick-moving chords and certainly makes for a great fingerstyle arrangement.

Much of the arrangement is around the intermediate level; however, the bridge (if you wish to tackle it) is much harder and more around the advanced level.

OK, let’s get into the lesson!

In My Life Guitar Lesson – Part Two

OK let’s get cracking with the bridge, we’ll also cover the outro in this lesson too. It was George Martin who wrote the bridge for In My Life and he recorded it with the tape running at half speed, so when played back at a normal pace the piano was twice as fast and an octave higher. They did this as it was a struggle for Martin to play it at full tempo. It also gave the bridge a baroque feel with a harpsichord-like sound.
