This is the full fingerstyle guitar lesson for Don’t Let Me Down by The Beatles.

Although credited Lennon/McCartney it was John that wrote this beautiful song. With Billy Preston’s fills in-between Lennon’s vocals and George’s perfectly crafted lines during the bridge, this is (to me at least!) one of the band’s best and most powerful songs.

This arrangement is pretty hard and I don’t recommend it for beginners but it’s really great fun to play.

Don't Let Me Down Guitar Lesson

In this first lesson we learn how to play the chorus and the verse. One thing that’s really subtle and very clever (typical of The Beatles) is the bar of 5/4 they slip in at the beginner of the verse. It’s so seamless and works terrifically.

Lesson 2 ( The Bridge)

OK, let’s now learn how to play the bridge. This part is really quite tricky as you have to marry the bass line with the melody.

How to Play the Outro

There’s just the outro left to learn now and if you were OK with the rest of the song then you shouldn’t struggle too much here.
