Six String Fingerpicking Courses and Lessons

Crazy by Willie Nelson (Patsy Cline) – Fingerstyle Guitar Lesson and TAB

Willie Nelson

3rd - 4th fret

This is the full fingerstyle guitar lesson for Crazy by Willie Nelson.

Nelson wrote Crazy in 1961 but it was ultimately popularised by Patsy Cline. To this day, her version remains a country classic and in 1996 it became the all-time most played song on jukeboxes in the United States – which is pretty Crazy!

This arrangement is great fun to play and I’d say that it’s best suited to the intermediate player and above.

OK, let’s pick our guitars and learn how to play Crazy!

Crazy Guitar Lesson

The really fun thing about this arrangement is the key change at the end. To achieve it you have to quickly shift the capo up a fret in the space of just two very short beats, then get back to playing the song as seamlessly as you can. It’s challenging but really satisfying when you get it right.
