This is the full guitar lesson for Cavatina.

This song was written by composer Stanley Myers in 1970 but was made really famous on the soundtrack for the classic film The Deer Hunter. This version was recorded by the legendary classical guitarist John Williams.

This is truly a beautiful and very moving song, quite challenging to play at times and certainly not one for beginners. I’d say it’s best suited to the intermediate player and above.

Alright, let’s pick up our guitars and learn how to play Cavatina!

Cavatina Guitar Lesson

There’s lots and lots of chords to navigate your way through in Cavatina and some of the grips are pretty strenuous. If you feel a lot of pain and strain in your fretting hand, remember to take a break. You really don’t want to overdo it and cause a long-lasting injury.
