This is the guitar lesson for The Wind by Cat Stevens.

This song appears on Steven’s 1971 album Teaser and the Firecat. It’s a great song to learn if you’re still new to fingerpicking, or guitar in general for that matter. The chords are nice and straightforward and therefore the structure is also very easy to navigate.

The Wind Guitar Lesson

There are really only two parts to the song that you have to learn – the verse and the chorus. I’d say that the verse is probably a little easier to play but the chorus uses a great technique where you play the bass with your thumb and then strum the chords (bass-strum technique). This one is really important to master if you’re interested in playing more fingerstyle.
